Noosphere and the problem of environmental sustainability of modern society

In today's world, where rapid changes in technology and globalisation dictate the pace of development, the issue of environmental sustainability is extremely relevant.  Environmental sustainability implies the ability of natural systems to withstand changes and maintain their functionality. Modern society faces a number of challenges that threaten this sustainability. Global warming and climate change are causing serious consequences for natural systems. Melting glaciers, rising sea levels and extreme weather events are all the result of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Deforestation, water and soil pollution, and uncontrolled use of natural resources lead to the degradation of ecosystems.
Another serious problem is the loss of biodiversity. Many species of plants and animals are on the verge of extinction due to human activity, which negatively affects the stability of ecosystems. The disappearance of one species can cause cascading effects that upset the balance in nature. This, in turn, affects human well-being, as healthy ecosystems provide numerous ecological services, such as air and water purification, plant pollination, and climate regulation.

In view of the above, the integration of noosphere principles into society's development strategies is becoming a necessity. Transitioning to more sustainable production and consumption patterns, introducing environmentally friendly technologies, developing renewable energy and increasing the area of protected areas are important steps towards environmental sustainability. It is also important to engage the public in active participation in environmental protection, raise environmental awareness and develop education aimed at understanding the importance of environmental sustainability and the principles of the noosphere for the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
